In 2022, the MTN Nigeria Foundation initiated the pilot phase of the Y’ellopreneur Initiative. During Phase One, a total of 4,711 female entrepreneurs underwent training in essential business management and development skills.

This training equipped them with the knowledge and skills needed to compete for the chance to receive up to N2 Million as equipment loans or grants to enhance the growth of their businesses. Subsequently, equipment loans totaling over N94 Million were disbursed to 50 female entrepreneurs as part of this initiative.

Upon the complete repayment of the loan, participating Y’ellopreneurs will be eligible to receive 25% of the loan value as grants. This innovative approach not only provides financial support to female entrepreneurs but also encourages the sustainability and success of their businesses, contributing to the overall empowerment and advancement of women in the entrepreneurial landscape.
